Its scary, intimidating and challenging; but essential for personal growth and a deeper understanding of self. Digging deeper into why the continuous cycles of anxiety, stress, the need for perfection, security etc. enlightens the path back to the foundation of why this cycle continues. Behavior, thoughts, physical feelings are all patterns that play a role in your mental health. Recognizing the connection between these patterns associated with your mental health is key. Are they destructive or helpful? Taking the time to see & identify where, why and how these patterns begin is a MONUMENTAL step to grasping an understanding of the way you work, from a NON-JUDGEMENTAL approach. Please remember to to be kind & curb the tendency to shame or criticize yourself. Digging deep is difficult and a learning process that will only hinder the forward progression if you continue to condemn those patterns. A healthy mind requires love and empathy to see the growth.
A beneficial resource that I have using is the the concept of the Enneagram. The Enneagram is a model of nine interconnected personality types. This concept takes understanding ones self to a deeper level and it is also beneficial other relationships. I recommend doing your research and picking up a enneagram books that will help you stay on course. Though this is not the end all be all, it is an awesome place to start.
And this might not be your cup tea, but its important to discover what works best for you by exploring different types of help.
